Each course is thoughtfully designed to provide students with opportunities to develop and practice these skills and apply them to new situations through real–world problem solving, creative tasks, design challenges, and big-picture thinking. By developing these transformative competencies, Rosedale students master higher order thinking skills and hone their ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with others around the world.

Curriculum and Learning Process
Rosedale has built an innovative course portfolio with an emphasis an on transformative competency development. Learning activities, assessments, and evaluations are carefully designed to provide students with opportunities to develop, practice, and reflect on the skills needed to become proficient with these competencies. Each course has a unique competency profile that highlights the skill development that has been integrated into the course design through opportunities for critical thinking, problem solving, innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, collaboration, and communication.
Evaluation and Reporting
The evaluations in Rosedale courses provide opportunities to evaluate and report on student achievement of the transformative competencies. In addition, information about student achievement of competencies is gathered through implementation of collaborative learning and formative activities that take place within the classrooms of the partner schools. Competencies are linked to specific learning activities and evaluations so that they can be measured, tracked, and reported for individual students across different subjects.
Teacher Instructional Resources
Rosedale provides detailed instructional guides to accompany every lesson that clearly identify the transformative competencies that are being developed and measured in each activity or evaluation. These instructional guides provide teachers with instructional strategies that support the development of the skills associated with the competencies, such as: Critical thinking, creative thinking, the use of questioning, promoting student talk, and providing formative feedback.
Teacher Development Programs
Rosedale’s comprehensive teacher development programs provide teachers the opportunity to learn, practice and apply competency-specific instructional strategies from fundamental to advanced levels utilizing variety of formats, including subject-specific examples, lectures, instruction demonstrations, workshops, teaching in practice and feedback/experience sharing from our expert educators.
