The skyrocketing popularity of ChatGPT and other Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools has signaled the future era of “Artificial Intelligence Plus.” AI holds untapped and boundless potential, and is spreading everywhere in our lives, and across all fields—from autonomous driving to robots, healthcare, the Internet, and many more. Regardless of what programs students choose to study in the future or what industry they will select for a career, they will undoubtedly have the opportunity to access AI. Understanding the application and competency development around AI is beneficial for the future, regardless of how our student community will apply themselves in the future. By understanding and applying AI, students can better respond to new challenges, seize new opportunities, and make self-aware choices for their future. To this end, Rosedale Global High School and our partner schools will explore student competency development in the era of AI to help learners accurately position themselves for the future while meeting their personalized learning goals.

To provide Rosedale Global High School students an opportunity to learn more about transformative AI technology, Rosedale has collaborated with the University of Waterloo and Renison University College at University of Waterloo to launch a two-week online summer course titled “Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing,” that will enable students to gain knowledge from professors at top universities, learn from experts who understand the application of AI in various industries, and will provide a tactical reference point for choice of future programs. The course enables students to grasp the necessary research-based academic competencies for higher education, while fully understanding the two major cutting-edge fields of AI and quantum computing—including their application practices and effectively improving students’ overall AI competency.
