SCH4U - Chemistry 12 (2024-25) - A
SCH4U-25A
2-4I: Organic Chemistry Reactions Lab [CTA]
Description
This is a CTA Activity.
Learning Strands & Expectations
Scientific Investigation Skills and Career Exploration
- demonstrate scientific investigation skills (related to both inquiry and research) in the four areas of skills (initiating and planning, performing and recording, analysing and interpreting, and communicating)
Organic Chemistry
- investigate organic compounds and organic chemical reactions, and use various methods to represent the compounds
- demonstrate an understanding of the structure, properties, and chemical behaviour of compounds within each class of organic compounds
Overview
In this activity you will read the information about Bromine test (Test for saturation) and Potassium per-magnate test (Test for oxidation). Then you will get the data from your teacher and use that data to answer the questions provided in the lab.
Task
- Step #1: Download and print the assignment
- Step #2: Click here to read the data collected in the real lab.
- Step #3: Collect lab data from your Classroom teacher.
- Step #4: Complete the observations and analysis questions provided in the lab.
- Step #5: Submit the completed assignment in pdf form.
Submission Requirements
Submit the pdf version of the completed assignment for grading by classroom teacher.
