In this activity you will perform a set of experiments on three different unlabelled metals. You will need to design your own experiment to determine the identities of the metals using the densities given. The densities of silver, rhodium and platinum are 10.5, 12.4, and 21.45 grams per milliliter.
Instructions:
- Read the instructions above the virtual lab.
- Design your own experiment and go through the steps.
- Record the data from your experiments in a data table.
- Use your results and compare them to densities of the three metals to determine the identity of each metal.
- At the bottom of the page, enter the identities of the metals and check your solutions.
