Equilibrium in the Human Body
Within the human body, multiple systems are in a state of equilibrium or are trying to attain a state of equilibrium at every second. Everything from our blood, to our stomach acids to our body temperature rely on our body systems maintaining equilibrium or being ready to respond to a stress that disrupts that equilibrium. Watch the following video to gain an understanding of some of the systems in the body that help maintain an equilibrium. Following the video you will complete an assignment in which you will examine how our blood is able to maintain its function through an acid-base equilibrium and will also explore how salts within us affect how we feel and how our bodies regulate them.
