Enhanced Teacher's Tools
The following set of resources are meant to be used to enhance classroom learning and offer opportunities for differentiated instruction.
Videos
The following set of videos can be used to enhance classroom teaching, clear up misconceptions and/or to offer differentiated methods of instruction. Teachers are encouraged to show videos to the whole class and then use the content to generate discussion and identify any areas of weakness. Alternatively teachers can send the video links to individual students to review on their own to help consolidate learning following in-class teaching.
- Arrhenius definition of acids & Bases - This video covers in detail the definitions and properties of Arrhenius acids & bases
- Strong Acids & Strong Bases - In this video students will learn the properties of and how to differentiate between strong acids and strong bases
Interactive Links
The following set of links offer interactive activities that can be used in different ways. They can be used as teacher oriented teaching tools, such as using the simulators to demonstrate concepts or alternatively by individual or groups of students to learn through inquiry with limited guidance from the teacher.
Games & Quizzes
This set of resources offers different fun and interactive games and quizzes that students can use to test their understanding. To increase engagement, the teacher can separate the class into teams and create a competition. Alternatively, the teacher can offer a reward for the class as a whole if they reach a certain combined goal such as a certain percentage of questions answered correctly or a total combined score.
Worksheets
This set of resources can be used to help students test their understanding while in the classroom, they can be assigned as homework or they can be used as a guide for students to help them visualize what information they will need to gain as they move through the lesson.
