In this lesson you will be performing a research assignment on how manipulating reaction rates can help improve industrial processes.

Learning Goals:

• Research and analyze energy technologies.
• Evaluate these technologies in terms of their impact on the environment.
• Describe the conditions necessary to increase the reaction rate of some common chemical reactions.
• Explain how increasing reaction rates of some common reactions can have a positive impact on the environment.

Success Criteria:

I know I have achieved the learning goals for this lesson when I can describe energy technologies that can be used to limit the negative impact on the environment of current technologies.  I will also be able to describe ways to increase rates of reaction to have a positive impact on the environment.
