Welcome to lesson 1-6: Structure & Properties of Solids. This lesson combines many of the concepts and principles we have learned in this unit so far to help explain the properties of different types of matter. What factors affect the specific properties of different substances? This lesson will teach you how to connect structures and forces within molecules and substances to different properties including melting points, electrical conductivity, malleability and others.

    • Understand how those intermolecular forces influence the properties of matter.
    • Describe different types of solids based on their properties.
